Opaque ruby-red in colour, this is a poised, medium-bodied Grenache with impressive aromatic detail and freshness. Wild strawberry, raspberry and pomegranate lead the nose, supported by black tea, smoked tobacco, dried herbs and subtle earthy notes, with restrained oak spice adding complexity. The palate is lithe and finely textured, combining juicy red fruit with savoury notes of beetroot, tea leaf and spice. Fine-grained tannins provide shape without heaviness, while bright acidity gives the wine energy and definition. There is good tension between fruit, structure and freshness, with the oak well integrated and firmly in a supporting role. Macerated cherry, dried herbs and tea leaf carry through onto a long, savoury finish. Elegant, precise and well balanced, with the freshness and restraint to give the wine real finesse.
